H0 39228 Class 218 Diesel Locomotive
Prototype: German Federal Railroad (DB) class 218 diesel locomotive. Pure orange/light gray basic paint scheme. Road number 218 140-2. The loco looks as it did starting in 1985.
Model: The loco has an mfx+ digital decoder and extensive sound functions. It also has a controlled, high-performance motor with a flywheel, centrally mounted. All four axles driven. Traction tires. Triple headlights and dual red marker lights change over with the direction of travel, work conventionally, and can be controlled digitally. Headlights at no. 1 and no. 2 loco ends can be turned off separately in digital operation. There is a double “A” light function. The cab lighting, which changes over with the direction of travel, and the engine room lighting can be controlled digitally. Maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs are used for the lighting. A buffer capacitor is fitted. The locomotive has separately applied metal grab irons on the sides and ends. The buffer height conforms to NEM specifications. Close couplers with guide mechanisms. Brake lines and screw couplers are included as parts that can be applied separately. Length over buffers 18.9 cm / 7-7/16".
